It is possible that this larger Death Angel is probably the elder is a much older and dominant of the hive, showing some sort hierarchy amongst them. It is also possible that the larger death angel is the guard of the hive which could mean that there might be a much bigger Death Angel that serves as the Queen, being able to command more than a dozen Death Angel Troops and Guards.
