Abbott family

The Abbott family consists of Lee and Evelyn along with four children (Regan, Marcus, Beau and unnamed baby).

History

Day 1

During Day 1 of the Invasion, Lee was driving and parked his pickup truck at Roger's store. Shortly after, he bought oranges and mineral water. Lee then walked to the baseball grounds where the rest of the Abbott family was watching Marcus' baseball team. Later, Lee and Regan met with Emmett. During the middle of the baseball match, a giant meteor fell into Walker's farm which caused the baseball match to be abandoned, with Millbrook citizens unsure of what was happening.

Lee and Regan returned to Lee's pickup truck while Evelyn, along with Marcus and Beau, returned to Evelyn's station wagon. A police car stopped and the driver, Ronnie, approached Lee and asked if he knew of any information regarding the giant meteor. Suddenly, a creature rammed into Ronnie's vehicle and flipped into a nearby store, causing nearby witnesses to quickly panic. Lee returned to the car, but was unable to the vehicle. Evelyn, along with Marcus and Beau, drove as they witnessed chaos nearby. Evelyn car stopped as the vehicles in front of her came to a halt. The creatures, also known as Death Angels, quickly appeared in front of the car and damaged the front windows, which caused Evelyn to drive in a panic as the chaos became worse. Marcus soon spotted Lee's truck, but a bus being attacked by a Death Angel accelerated into Evelyn's car, causing Evelyn to reverse her car until it crashed.

Lee and Regan quickly took cover inside a bar, seeking shelter from the Death Angels. Inside the bar, citizens attempted to remain quiet and avoid attracting the Death Angels. Everyone in the bar witnessed a Death Angel as it opened its armor to detect sound. However, a phone began to ring, causing the people inside to scatter, with Lee and Regan leaving through the back of the bar while the creatures began to slaughter those inside.

Evelyn, along with Marcus and Beau, hid near Ronnie's flipped police vehicle as Lee and Regan ran away from a Death Angel. Ronnie shot at the Death Angel with his shotgun, but it wasn't effective due to the creature's tough armor. The creature leapt towards Ronnie and killed him.

Day 89

On Day 89, the family returned to the pharmacy, where they scavenged for medication for Marcus, who was ill. As the family were about to leave the store, they saw that Beau had picked up a toy space shuttle, with batteries inside. Lee slowly convinced Beau to remain quiet and took the batteries out to prevent the toy from making noise. He then placed it on the counter and left the store.

As the family made their way home, they discovered that Beau had regained possession of the toy shuttle from the store, having been given it back by Regan. After she left the store, Beau put the batteries back into it. Beau soon started the electronic sounds on the toy, causing it to draw the attention of a nearby Death Angel. Lee sat Marcus down and ran to save Beau, but he was too late as the Death Angel quickly react and Beau was killed.

Day 472

More than a year later, the family had set up a surveillance system at the farm and Evelyn was pregnant, due to give birth any day. That night, Lee climbed on top of one of the silos and looked through a memory box dedicated to Beau. As the sun went down, Lee set a fire on top of the silo to signal the other nearby residences, who in turn did the same. The family later had dinner. After dinner, Marcus and Regan played Monopoly. During the game, Marcus accidentally knocked over the lantern, causing a fire. Lee quickly extinguished the fire and the family awaited a possible Death Angel attack. However, a Raccoon walked to the above of their roof then quickly killed by Death Angel. After a few scares, the family relaxed and returned to what they were doing.

Lee later went downstairs to work on Regan's hearing aid which later become main weapon for counterattack Death Angel causing a main weakness spot of Death Angel discovered.

Day 473

The following day, Lee took Marcus out on a hunt, where after catching some fish, he and Marcus discussed his feelings towards Regan, who Lee insisted that he didn't blame for the death of Beau. On their way home from the hunt, they came across an elderly man standing over his wife, who was killed by one of the creatures. Lee pleaded with the man to keep quiet. However, the pain was too much to bear, and the man let out a loud scream. Lee picked up Marcus and took cover behind a tree as a creature arrived and killed the man.

Lee and Marcus made their way back home, where they discovered that Evelyn had turned on the red lights, indicating danger. Lee handed Marcus a flashlight and told him to launch fireworks in order to lure the creatures away from the house. Armed with a loaded shotgun, Lee made his way into the house and followed a trail of blood to the bathroom, where he found Evelyn laying in the shower with their newborn baby boy. He then carried Evelyn and the baby back to the barn, where they made their way underground as the child started to cry. Lee put an oxygen mask on the baby and placed him inside a wooden crate, where his cries were muffled.

After a conversation with Evelyn, Lee returned to the surface to find Regan and Marcus. He discovered that the kids had become trapped inside a grain silo and that a creature was coming for them. However, they managed to escape unharmed and Lee embraced them both. However, the creature wasn't far. Lee sent the kids to the abandoned truck while he grabbed an axe from the tool shed. The creature slashed at Lee, leaving a large gash across his chest. The creature then began to attack the truck with Regan and Marcus.

With what little life remained in him, Lee pulled himself up and screamed out loud to distract the creature from Regan and Marcus, but not before signaling to Regan that he loved her and that he always had. After the creature charged towards Lee and ripped him apart, Marcus shifted the truck out of park and it rolled down the hill to the house, where they run into the arms of Evelyn.

Soon after, Regan discovered that the creatures had a weakness caused by the frequency emitted from her new hearing aid. The family used it to fight the creatures and kill them. With the sacrifice of Lee, Abbotts had managed to survive the day.

Day 474

After reuniting with Regan and Marcus, Evelyn lead them into the basement. She sat Marcus in a corner with the baby as Regan used the high-pitched frequency from her hearing aid to hurt one of the creature. For the creature, the pain was so excruciating after Regan placed the boosted implant on a nearby microphone to magnify the feedback, that it collapsed. Painfully disoriented, the creature exposed the flesh beneath its armored head and renders itself vulnerable to a shotgun blast from Evelyn. Though they had managed to kill one, the sound of the gunfire drew more creatures in their direction, but Regan was ready with her hearing aid and Evelyn ready with the shotgun.

Later, after retrieving the air tank from the barn, Evelyn and the kids made their way to a rail yard, where they reunited with an old neighbor, Emmett. Emmett told Evelyn and the kids that they couldn’t stay, as there weren’t enough supplies. Hoping to appeal to him, she showed him the baby inside the box.

Emmett inquired about the feedback from the microphone and how it seemed to irritate the creatures, but Evelyn didn’t exactly know the science behind it. Evelyn gave her condolences, assuming that Emmett’s family was dead. He revealed that his kids died the first day and that his wife, Nora, died just 11 weeks prior from an illness. Evelyn then asked Emmett if he knew that it was Lee when he saw the flame night after night. Emmett admitted that he knew, but he didn’t consider coming for them, because people had changed since the invasion had begun. Marcus hearing the radio and discovered the music indicated there's a signal and someone still survived.
