Day 1[]
New York's residents lived normally until the Death Angels invaded Earth on June 18, 2020. On that day, Sam was walking to the convenience store to purchase a snack, and then sirens of police and several military vehicles were heard from inside, which indicated the beginning of the Invasion. Sam, Frodo, and other people outside witnessed meteor showers that flew across the sky of New York. One of the meteors crashed into the street, shocking everyone who had observed the impact. Sam later witnessed an injured woman begging for help, and a Death Angel quickly slashed the woman.
Shortly after, the survivors, including Sam, witnessed a car being thrown and exploding after one of the Death Angels quickly threw the car, causing those around to panic and start to run away from the Death Angels. Sam tried to hide below a car as Death Angels began to slaughter those around. As Sam hid, another man tried to hide under the car and begged Sam to help him before a Death Angel quickly pulled him out.
Shortly after, military helicopters began warning the survivors to shelter in place and wait for further instructions. The helicopters also attracted many Death Angels outside, who chased after the helicopters. Later in the night, the military used missiles to destroy all bridges that connected Manhattan to the rest of New York City, which prevented Death Angels from attacking other areas in New York, thus disconnecting the other regions from Death Angels. New York City suffered huge devastation as the U.S. military suffered severe causalities. New York City became deserted and a ghost city later on.
The city was later mentioned in Lee Abbott's newspaper clip, which indicated that New York City had locked down after the Invasion and that Wall Street had suffered severe devastation, as hard drives being wiped out affected world finances.
