The Invasion, also known as The Global Attack, refers to the arrival of Death Angels on Earth June 18, 2020, and their massacre of nearly all human and animal populations.
History[]
Pre-Invasion[]
Prior to the Invasion, the Death Angels' home planet was destroyed due to a planetary explosion, turning into a meteor shower and descending upon Earth. The Death Angels survived thanks to their indestructible armors.
Early Days[]
The Invasion began on June 18, 2020, when the Death Angels arrived on Earth on multiple meteors that broke off from their destroyed home planet in the form of a meteor shower, along with dozens of smaller rocks before crashing into Mexico and several other places. According to Lee's newspaper clipping, there were 127 confirmed landing sites of Death Angels' meteors. It is assumed (according to Lee's newspaper and picture clip) that several pieces of the meteor broke off and landed in multiple locations around the world such as New York and Shanghai, the creatures reached Millbrook within minutes after arriving on Earth, and the biggest fragment landed in Mexico.
The Death Angels, immediately after arriving and emerging from the fragments, began to attack and slaughter the unprepared human and animal population as noises easily attracted them. The alien creatures quickly overwhelmed them with their extremely durable shells on their body and head to protect their ears and their flesh from any counterattacks. Their sharp claws and hypersensitive hearing further help the creatures to hunt and hear even clearer and better, causing most people to live in dreadful silence in order to avoid Death Angels. Due to the massive danger that the creatures pose, the military warned the survivors not to make any noises from helicopters during the early days of the invasion.
While there is not much information about the battle against the aliens, it is implied through Lee's newspapers that the Earth's militaries, especially the U.S. Military, were unable to fight back against the Death Angels due to the creatures' tough armored skin. As a result, they could easily resist any kind of weapons such as guns and missiles. The military suffered severe casualties and were therefore unable to protect the rest of the population as stated. It is unknown if the soldiers managed to kill any aliens despite their weakness at that time being unknown. The military in New York bombed the bridge that led to Manhattan for quarantine and preventing the Death Angels from attacking other regions.
After the military discovered that the creatures can't swim or quickly drowned on deep water, the US National Guard announced the mass evacuation and began evacuating as many people as possible at that time from the continent to smaller islands, separated from the continent which were unaffected by the Invasion of the Death Angels. Despite that, their efforts achieved little success. In a lone port according to Henri who survived the Invasion in New York City and lived in the island, the US Military attempted to evacuate all people from the city to an island as soon as possible, but as everybody attempted to force their way onboard the 12 boats, some began screaming as they feared the creatures, thereby attracting the Death Angels. Only two boats managed to depart from the city safely. It is implied that all the other people were slaughtered at the city/the port or left abandoned on the continent.

Aftermath[]
This Invasion of the Death Angels caused human society to rapidly crumble and collapse in almost every country around the world. Unfortunately, there is not much information about the countries or cities that were unaffected. The Invasion resulted in immeasurable devastation to human and animal populations around the world, and caused most cities to become silent as the Death Angels hunt by tracking noise.
Roughly a year and a half later, the aliens apparently achieved total dominance over the Earth after wiping out the militaries throughout the world, especially the US Military, and erasing the majority of creatures that made noise. Most animals go extinct and only aquatic animals such as fishes and very few terrestrial animals such as birds survived from the invasion. Humanity is now reduced to scattered survivors, mainly in small groups or families that hide out in isolated locations, such as the Abbott family, Marina Man's group, and the island colony. Most human survivors live in silence and adapt to the Death Angels by using methods such as sign language to communicate or whisper extremely quiet. By the end of A Quiet Place, the Abbott family discovered another weakness of the Death Angels and how to kill them by causing them to twitch and hinder their movements. They even managed to crack open their armor, revealing their vulnerable organ through high-pitched frequencies from Regan's malfunctioning hearing aid and shooting/beating them to death while taking advantage of their stagger. The family begun broadcasting a high-pitched frequency through the radio at the island's Radio Station using Regan's malfunctioning hearing aid at the end of A Quiet Place: Part II, but the consequences of the broadcast are yet to be revealed.
The survivors on the Island which are separated from the mainland lived normally because the Island is unaffected from the early days of the Invasion. Therefore, it was considered a safe area until one Death Angel managed to reach the colony by trapping a boat after one drowned and scratched the boat to attract other Death Angel for help. It arrived via a boat situated at the same port where Regan Abbott and Emmett found their own boat for the journey to the radio station. Subsequently, the creature slaughtered some of the island's survivors.
